Inauguration

Salut, everyone, and welcome :)

This is Urban Blush, my brand-new fashion blog.
And who exactly am I?

Well, I'm still trying to figure that out as well. But there are some things I'm sure of. :)
My name is Flavia, otherwise known as Flavs. I'm a senior in high school, just a few months away from going to Georgia State University where I will study journalism. My goal is to complete my core courses in 2 years and then transfer to New York University or Fashion Institute of Technology for the other 2 years to either continue/do my specialty courses in journalism or look into studying fashion merchandising. After college, I'd like to write for a fashion magazine. That's 'THE DREAM'. I know that there a ton of girls out there with the same dream, but here's the difference: I intend to make mine come true, no matter how much work or debt it takes.

And that's where this blog comes in. I'll be using it to get my feet wet, so to speak, in the world of fashion journalism. I'll be critiquing trends, posting pictures of local and/or my own styles, documenting/writing styles I see on the street, etc. At the moment, I live in a humdrum area fashion-wise, but once I live in the city, things will really get going. And until then, I'll be taking occasional trips into the downtown area to take pictures.

My own style is pretty arbitrary. Some days I like to look sweet and pastel-y, and other days I'll throw on the studded necklace and boots. It all depends on my mood. I'm not by any means wealthy, so I don't own designer brands nor can I afford them. I usually shop at Goodwill besides the occasional splurging trip at the mall. I love structured/geometric looks, heels, and mixing up patterns.
